A recently published randomised controlled trial investigated the effects of a 7-month intervention involving both cognitive and physical training on neuropsychiatric symptoms and quality of life of older adults with MCI.

Participants included in this study experienced improvements in their mood and well-being, and so did the caregivers of the people with MCI that received the intervention. Neuropsychiatric symptoms, such as apathy and psychotic symptoms, also decreased in this group.
